Here you can find the most frequently asked questions about our hiking and bike tours.
What equipment is recommended?
For hiking tours:
We recommend sturdy hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a light jacket.
For bike tours:
We recommend comfortable sportswear, cycling gloves if desired, and a helmet (which can also be rented from us).
Don't forget: Sun protection such as sunglasses, sunscreen, and, if necessary, a hat or cap.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations are possible up to 48 hours before the start of the activity and are accepted exclusively by e-mail.
For cancellations made within 48 hours of the activity, refunds can only be granted in cases of illness or accident. In such cases, a medical certificate issued by a local doctor is required.
Further information can be found here: https://www.outdoorguides.it/en/terms-and-conditions/
Do I need mountain biking experience?
For our easier tours, such as the Family Tour or the Rodaval Tour, it is sufficient to be confident riding a bicycle.
For all other tours, we recommend having basic mountain biking experience. Some routes include gravel roads as well as various climbs and descents. Participants should therefore feel comfortable riding on unpaved terrain.
Do you offer family tours?
Yes, every Friday we offer a guided Family Tour as a group tour, specially designed for families with children.
Alternatively, we offer our special “Family Bike Day”. For this private tour, only one participant is charged, regardless of the number of family members taking part.
The tour can be fully tailored to the needs and riding abilities of the family and the children, ensuring an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Please note that our regular group bike tours are only available for participants aged 16 and over.
Do you offer bike rental?
Yes, bikes can be rented directly through us. Guests who also book a tour with us receive a 10% discount on bike rentals.
Our MTB Rental & Shop is located directly at the valley station of the Seceda cable car in Ortisei.
We offer a wide selection of:
• E-bikes
• Mountain bikes
• Children's bikes
• Road bikes
• Accessories and equipment
Bikes can be conveniently reserved online: MTB Rental & Shop Ortisei
Where is the meeting point?
If bike rental is required, we recommend meeting directly at our bike rental shop: MTB Rental & Shop, Val d'Anna 2
Otherwise, the meeting point can be arranged flexibly according to the participants' preferences and needs.
Are there family hikes available?
Yes, we offer our special Family Hike Day, designed specifically for families. Regardless of the number of family members participating, only the rate for one person is charged.
Where is the meeting point?
The meeting point can be arranged flexibly. Depending on your preference, your guide can meet you directly at your accommodation, at the valley station of the lift facilities, or at another suitable starting point for the hike.
Together, we will choose the most convenient option for your tour.
Do you also offer group hikes?
No, all of our hikes are conducted exclusively with a private guide. This allows us to tailor the route, difficulty level, duration, and pace to the participants' preferences and abilities.
Our guides are highly flexible and can adapt the itinerary during the hike according to weather conditions, interests, or specific requests. This ensures a unique and personalized experience in the Dolomites.
Are lift facilities used during the bike tours?
Most of our group bike tours do not require the use of lift facilities. Private tours, however, are customized according to the participants' wishes and riding abilities, so the use of lifts can be decided together with your guide during the planning process.
The following tours make use of lift facilities. For these tours, we recommend purchasing the Dolomiti Supersummer Card:
- Sellaronda
- Val Duron
- Val Gardena Trail Galaxy
Do lift tickets need to be purchased in advance?
For the Seceda cable car, advance booking is required, as a specific time slot must be reserved for the ascent.
Tickets for the Alpe di Siusi cable car can optionally be purchased in advance, although a reservation is not mandatory.
For the Rasciesa funicular, advance reservations are not available; tickets can be purchased directly on site.
